ASICS Runkeeper Redesign
Work in Progress
ASICS Acquired Runkeeper in 2016. Upon acquiring Race Roster in 2020, a more holistic approach to a broader running ecosystem had been achieved. But with that achievement comes the complications of a number of different brands in one space.
The goal of this rebrand is to better align with the ASICS visual identity and company mission in order to create a more congruent experience between the brands as we further integrate into a holistic ecosystem.
The challenge is to do this in a way that does not alienate legacy users, lose the Runkeeper flair, or push ASICS too heavily on them.
The current Runkeeper Expierence is loved by the heavy users of the app. It’s fun, approachable and the colors are soothing and not overly aggressive like our competitors.
With that comes a number of challenges that have built up over the years. The colors aren’t compliant, many of the screens are over complicated and new features have been shoved into crowded spaces without the removal of less used options.
As we approach 2020, we are working on both an architectural overhaul to reflect changes in the Runkeeper offerings and services as well as a deepened alignment with the ASICS brand look/feel and positioning.
In exploring options - there has been a lot of discussions and discovery into how much of ASICS vs. Runkeeper the new experience will have. As this point in time we are diving into a full ASICS alignment, to be released in parallel with a broader ASICS campaign push in Q3 of 2022.
Work in Progress.
The following is a glimpse into the new Runkeeper (ASICS Runner) App.
We are currently doing extensive testing and content building to make the new experience a reality. It will likely change along the way ;-)
I can't add too much written detail here, but I would love to discuss in person.
